Who We Are

Established in 2021, Richard Foster Architects is an architecture and interiors practice, dedicated to the production of beautifully crafted, bespoke, high quality architecture. We pride ourselves, not only on the work we produce, but the relationships we build, with each project starting with getting to know you; gaining trust and building friendships, with the ultimate goal of creating a project tailored specifically to your needs.

The studio primarily works on residential and educational projects ranging from internal refurbishments, remodels and extensions to new build homes, with a portfolio of work extending across the UK and abroad.

We always endeavour to use natural materials, promoting sustainability, honesty and quality, allowing our projects to improve with age. Our philosophy focuses on design simplicity, materiality, and the use of light to generate spaces that are beautifully crafted, individual and inspiring.

We pride ourselves not only on design, but having a firm grounding in construction detailing, allowing us to deliver the complete package from conception through to completion.

Richard studied his Bachelor of Arts, and Bachelor of Architecture at Manchester University between 2004 and 2011.

In 2007 he joined the internationally renowned architectural practice Broadway Malyan, where he worked on a number of high profile projects across the UK.

In 2011, he re-joined Broadway Malyan, following his diploma, to work on a number of international projects, based out of their Shanghai Studio.

Returning home in 2013, Richard joined another AJ100 Practice in ADP, before establishing his own practice in 2021.

Richard has a particular interest in sustainable contemporary architecture focussing on design quality and attention to detail.
